Horia Milcu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Costel Nițulescu in the 8th minute of play. In the 9th minute Iacob Elefterescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Horia Milcu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Horia Milcu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eliodor Mergea, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. In the 15th match minute, U Cluj was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Flavius Lovinescu to maneuver through the defense. Horia Milcu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Iacob Elefterescu in the 16th minute of play. U Cluj's Horia Milcu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eliodor Mergea in the 17th minute of play. After 25 played minutes FC U Conțești got a freekick which was hit by Grigore Irod. Iacob Elefterescu scored 0-1 in the 29th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Horia Milcu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With a little luck, FC U Conțești's Emanuel Bratoloveanu got control of the ball when Codruț Moarcăș tried to sneak it across the goal line. When U Cluj's Codruț Moarcăș, in the 34th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for U Cluj. An unexpectedly hard shot by Avram Ghiondea in the 37th minute of play forced U Cluj's goalkeeper Horia Milcu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 40 played minutes FC U Conțești got a freekick which was hit by Ciprian Dabija.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Codruț Moarcăș made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by 康延源 in the 52nd minute of play forced FC U Conțești's goalkeeper Emanuel Bratoloveanu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With 55 minutes on the clock, Nicolae Bărăian commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After a rather tough play, FC U Conțești's Nicolae Bărăian got a free kick in the 56th minute. Iurie Mihuț struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Emanuel Bratoloveanu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for U Cluj. Horia Milcu came out of the goal in the 69th minute to try and stop a shot by FC U Conțești's Costel Nițulescu. But to his dismay, Costel Nițulescu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. U Cluj's Horia Milcu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eliodor Mergea in the 73rd minute of play. After 74 minutes of play, FC U Conțești's Costel Nițulescu made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Horia Milcu was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of U Cluj booed when FC U Conțești was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dinu Budac didn't get a good kick on the ball. Codruț Moarcăș fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emanuel Bratoloveanu having to interfere. FC U Conțești's Eliodor Mergea got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Costel Nițulescu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 86th minute of the match, but Horia Milcu made a huge save. 91 minutes into the match, U Cluj's goal looked a bit too open when Avram Ghiondea came free, but Horia Milcu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Costel Nițulescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Horia Milcu having to interfere. The U Cluj supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching FC U Conțești's performance. The match ended with a win for FC U Conțești.
