In the 35th minute, Aurelian Bobei got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Raoul Zahno received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Anton Luncaniță tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The wind increased when Ştefan Păltineanu made the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Focus FC's Raoul Zahno got a free kick in the 52nd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Corneliu Chiliman got free with Simeon Duke in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 58 minutes into the game, Raoul Zahno cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Simeon Duke came out of the goal and Ştefan Păltineanu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Denis Horea got free with Simeon Duke in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 95 minutes, Ştefan Moscu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Focus FC and the Cosla players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 95 played minutes Focus FC got a freekick which was hit by Ştefan Moscu. Cosla were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Focus FC to leave the ground with a draw.
