Leonard Costea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Octavian Calboreanu in the 5th minute of the match. When Silviu Turcan came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the Hunedoara CSS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Silviu Turcan couldn't finish the play. Leonard Costea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Laurențiu Sandu in the 12th minute of the match. After having played for 16 minutes, Ionel Dima managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hunedoara CSS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ionel Dima was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Grigore Stolniciu hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. After 19 played minutes, Hunedoara CSS's Călin Petru shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Valer Vrabie came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Hunedoara CSS reached it. Leonard Costea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maxim Bădoi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maxim Bădoi in the 25th minute of play forced Hunedoara CSS's goalkeeper Leonard Costea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Ionel Dima had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Valer Vrabie showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adam Olaru in the 35th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Laurențiu Sandu in the 40th minute of play forced Hunedoara CSS's goalkeeper Leonard Costea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ionel Dima received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Valer Vrabie tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 45th minute Adam Olaru shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valer Vrabie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Ionel Dima managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hunedoara CSS's supporters rose to their feet, but Ionel Dima was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Valer Vrabie breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ionel Dima stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Silviu Turcan in the 54th minute of play forced Studinita AFC's goalkeeper Valer Vrabie to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Paul Calota kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Ionel Dima's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Valer Vrabie was relentless in the 58th minute of the game. In the 62nd minute, Studinita AFC's Maxim Bădoi ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Leonard Costea. Leonard Costea yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-1. After 71 played minutes Hunedoara CSS got a freekick which was hit by Ionel Dima. An unexpectedly hard shot by Laurențiu Sandu in the 73rd minute of play forced Hunedoara CSS's goalkeeper Leonard Costea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ionel Dima recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Leonard Costea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Laurențiu Sandu in the 82nd minute of the match. Silviu Turcan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Valer Vrabie tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Florin Cârneci made in the 86th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Niculae Breazu however managed to control. 89 minutes into the match, Hunedoara CSS's goal looked a bit too open when Laurențiu Sandu came free, but Leonard Costea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 93 minutes into the game, Maxim Bădoi recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Leonard Costea. Maxim Bădoi showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-2. Chants of Studinita AFC echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Hunedoara CSS had held the ball for most of the match.
