Spectators: 6706 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1706, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Pavel Zglobiu started the match with the kick off. After 13 minutes, Cristian Iordănescu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Iasi and the Ghelari CF players grew even worse after the yellow card. Olimpiu Ponor scored 0-1 in the 17th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Codrin Crăiță, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Gabriel Horațiu acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 21st minute, took the ball on the long shot from Nicu Itu. After 23 played minutes, FC Iasi's Francisc Cismaș shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Codrin Crăiță came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in FC Iasi reached it. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Francisc Cismaș during the 28th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Ghelari CF booed when FC Iasi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Francisc Cismaș didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Olimpiu Ponor in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Codrin Crăiță saved Ghelari CF from getting behind. Olimpiu Ponor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Codrin Crăiță having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Olimpiu Ponor in the 39th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Codrin Crăiță saved Ghelari CF from getting behind. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Olimpiu Ponor made a kick off. In the 52nd minute of the match Francisc Cismaș sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Codrin Crăiță skillfully saved the ball. A collision led to Ghelari CF getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Dumitru Amandiței hit a great ball. 58 minutes into the match, Ghelari CF's goalkeeper Codrin Crăiță had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Șerban Hârlab. Codrin Crăiță was a little too slow when Emilian Lupea got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 60th minute. The score was now 0-2. Codrin Crăiță made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emilian Lupea in the 65th minute of play. Pavel Zglobiu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Gabriel Horațiu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Emilian Lupea kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Codrin Crăiță. That made the score 0-4 in the 77 minute of play. 85 minutes into the match, Ghelari CF's goal looked a bit too open when Olimpiu Ponor came free, but Codrin Crăiță reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cristian Iordănescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Codrin Stoiciu hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. After having played for 90 minutes, Olimpiu Ponor managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Iasi's supporters crossed their fingers, but Olimpiu Ponor was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Codrin Crăiță made an important save on a dangerous shot by Olimpiu Ponor in the 94th minute. In the 95th minute Emilian Lupea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Codrin Crăiță saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Ghelari CF supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching FC Iasi's performance. The match ended with a win for FC Iasi.
