After a defensive mix-up in FC Lilieci's zone, Pavel Zglobiu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aristide Costescu came out of the goal and Pavel Zglobiu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Costin Corduneanu's late challenge caught a Ghelari CF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Costin Corduneanu helped the player get up and apologised. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 42nd minute of the game. One of FC Lilieci:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Ghelari CF:s goal. The goalkeeper, Aristide Costescu, was totally fooled by Ghelari CF's Nicolae Apostolescu, who 44 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Aristide Costescu came out of the goal in the 89th minute to try and stop a shot by Ghelari CF's Iurie Pădureanu. But to his dismay, Iurie Pădureanu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. Aristide Costescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Iurie Pădureanu in the 92nd minute of the match.
