Niculae Iftode showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mihnea Ruşdea, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Mihnea Ruşdea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Niculae Iftode having to interfere. Eric Radovan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After some careless play in the FCSM SLATINA defense, Sorin Bogătean kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Niculae Iftode. The FCSM SLATINA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Niculae Iftode should have stopped the shot. Costică Novacovici made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ernest Negulescu in the 29th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ernest Negulescu in the 34th minute of play forced Stejarii Saftica's goalkeeper Costică Novacovici to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. FCSM SLATINA's Niculae Iftode proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to save FCSM SLATINA from getting a goal against them. If Mihnea Anastasiu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The wind increased when Sorin Bogătean made the kick off in the second half. Vlad Codin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Costică Novacovici having to interfere. Sorin Bogătean struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. Niculae Iftode didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Stejarii Saftica. With a little luck, Stejarii Saftica's Costică Novacovici got control of the ball when Vlad Codin tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 63rd minute, Sorin Bogătean got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 65 minutes into the match, FCSM SLATINA's goal looked a bit too open when Mihnea Anastasiu came free, but Niculae Iftode reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Niculae Iftode showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eric Radovan in the 66th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sorin Bogătean in the 67th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Niculae Iftode prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 68 minutes of play, Stejarii Saftica's Eric Radovan made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Niculae Iftode was left in no man's land by his defense there! Sorin Bogătean sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 73 minutes into the match, FCSM SLATINA's goal looked a bit too open when Sorin Bogătean came free, but Niculae Iftode reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mihnea Ruşdea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. FCSM SLATINA's Niculae Iftode played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sorin Bogătean in the 76th minute of play. Eduard Capisizu's late challenge caught a Stejarii Saftica's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eduard Capisizu helped the player get up and apologised. Paul Zdrobău sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
