Nae Tilea kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Phoenix's zone, Horia Arapașu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edgar Nisporeanu came out of the goal and Horia Arapașu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nils-Åke Hård charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nils-Åke Hård the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Horia Arapașu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edgar Nisporeanu having to interfere. Toader Ichimescu who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 28thth minute tested the skills of Vintilă Iosif when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Edgar Nisporeanu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andrei Frențiu in the 31st minute of the match. In the 32nd minute, Toader Ichimescu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Toader Ichimescu who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 34thth minute tested the skills of Vintilă Iosif when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The wind increased when Toader Ichimescu made the kick off in the second half. Matei Manafu was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 56 minutes into the match. When the match had been going on for 58 minutes, Remecioara SC's Petruț Alexe got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Edgar Nisporeanu. Edgar Nisporeanu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Horia Arapașu in the 65th minute of play. Edgar Nisporeanu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Horia Arapașu, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Remecioara SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Horia Arapașu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
