Mavrodolu's Șerban Bute played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Francisc Ieremia in the 20th minute of play. The supporters of Rucar CF booed when Mavrodolu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emilian Elefteriu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ferdinand Boștină sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. It was beautiful to see Mavrodolu's Ferdinand Boștină in action when he in the 39th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! Sebastian Cioacă showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ferdinand Boștină, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Ferdinand Boștină made the kick off in the second half. Valentin Sava blasted a shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sebastian Cioacă having to make a save. Tiberiu Isaia struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Sebastian Cioacă didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal.
