A beautiful save bye Marapici CSM's goalie prevented a goal. 11 minutes into the game, Marapici CSM's Emilian Videanu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sabin Orescu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Rareș Curea received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Horia Cristocea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Through an outstanding action, after 20 minutes, Sabin Orescu successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Emilian Videanu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sabin Orescu having to interfere. Horia Cristocea showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stelian Gologan, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. If Rareș Curea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Stelian Gologan took the ball and in the 30 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Horia Cristocea. Horia Cristocea dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. The crowd rose to their feet as Marapici CSM's Gabriel Ţintea slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Sabin Orescu. That made the score 2-2 after 33 minutes of play. Sabin Orescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gabriel Ţintea in the 36th minute of play. 37 minutes into the match, AS Roma's goal looked a bit too open when Nicolae Pătrășcanu came free, but Sabin Orescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 39 minutes into the game, Grigore Păvăloae was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Marapici CSM's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave AS Roma the free kick. Grigore Păvăloae kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. In the 42nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Marapici CSM's goalkeeper Horia Cristocea, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After having played for 43 minutes, Stelian Gologan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AS Roma's supporters crossed their fingers, but Stelian Gologan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 45th minute Gabriel Ţintea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sabin Orescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marapici CSM's Horia Cristocea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rareș Curea in the 47th minute of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rareș Curea made a kick off. Sabin Orescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Filip Paulescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. 53 minutes into the match, Emilian Videanu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sabin Orescu. AS Roma's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Emilian Videanu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. Stelian Gologan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Horia Cristocea having to interfere. Gabriel Ţintea took the ball and in the 61 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sabin Orescu. Sabin Orescu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-2. After having played for 67 minutes, Stelian Gologan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The Marapici CSM fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Horia Cristocea should have stopped the shot. Sabin Orescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gabriel Ţintea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Rareș Curea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Corneliu Roşculeţ during the 76th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 80 minutes into the match, Marapici CSM's goalkeeper Horia Cristocea had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Stelian Gologan.
