The Mechanics F.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Calistrat Albu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ionuț Malcocea made a fantastic save in the 11th minute, when Nicolae Popan sent off a good shot on target. In the 12th minute, Nicolae Popan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ionuț Malcocea was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Dorin Gheție made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Corneliu Dugulescu in the 15th minute of play. Narcis Alungulesei received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Ionuț Malcocea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Mechanics F.C's Ionuț Malcocea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicolae Popan in the 20th minute of play. Nicolae Popan scored 2-0 in the 22nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ionuț Malcocea, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 37 played minutes Mădălin Tăzlăuanu rounded The Mechanics F.C's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 4-1. Narcis Alungulesei sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, The Mechanics F.C's Ionuț Malcocea got control of the ball when Nicolae Popan tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ionuț Malcocea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicolae Popan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-1 at half-time.

The wind increased when Eliodor Muslea made the kick off in the second half. Ionuț Malcocea came out of the goal in the 52nd minute to try and stop a shot by Lateni FC's Mădălin Tăzlăuanu. But to his dismay, Mădălin Tăzlăuanu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-1. In the 60th minute, Mădălin Tăzlăuanu left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Lateni FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-1. A collision led to The Mechanics F.C getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Octavian Ghițescu hit a great ball. Ioan Mara took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 65th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ionuț Malcocea. The Mechanics F.C's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The Mechanics F.C's Ionuț Malcocea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mădălin Tăzlăuanu in the 67th minute of play. After 71 played minutes Lateni FC got a freekick which was hit by Viorel Răuțchi. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mădălin Tăzlăuanu in the 74th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ionuț Malcocea prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 75th match minute, The Mechanics F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ionică Dulgherescu to maneuver through the defense. After 76 played minutes, Lateni FC's Ioan Mara shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ionuț Malcocea came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Lateni FC reached it. After 77 minutes of play, Lateni FC's Ioan Mara made it 8-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ionuț Malcocea was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ionuț Malcocea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Costel Jianu in the 84th minute of play. 87 minutes into the match, The Mechanics F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Narcis Alungulesei came free, but Ionuț Malcocea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ionuț Malcocea showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Costel Jianu, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. In the 94th minute Nicolae Popan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ionuț Malcocea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
