Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Gheorghe Crușeveanu started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. The audience was convinced that Vali Octavian's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cosmin Pădureanu was relentless in the 4th minute of the game. Cosmin Pădureanu came out of the goal and Vali Octavian tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cosmin Pădureanu came out of the goal in the 10th minute to try and stop a shot by Pernesti's Vali Octavian. But to his dismay, Vali Octavian quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 12th match minute, Rapid Bucuresti was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Iustinian Popeangă to maneuver through the defense. If Marian Măndica had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Ciprian Macaneață came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Pernesti fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ciprian Macaneață couldn't finish the play. In the 25thth minute of the game Vali Octavian who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Rapid Bucuresti's Cosmin Pădureanu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 31 played minutes Pernesti got a freekick which was hit by Nistor Marghescu. The audience thought a goal was coming when Iustin Chiriac got free with Horaţiu Cubleșan in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cosmin Pădureanu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ciprian Macaneață, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Rapid Bucuresti's Cosmin Pădureanu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vali Octavian in the 37th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Vali Octavian's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cosmin Pădureanu was relentless in the 39th minute of the game. Pernesti's Horaţiu Cubleșan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to save Pernesti from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Pernesti's Ferdinand Buzea got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Horaţiu Cubleșan was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Niculae Mohora. If Vali Octavian had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The supporters of Pernesti booed when Rapid Bucuresti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gheorghe Crușeveanu didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Pernesti's Vali Octavian in the 61st minute got a chance for a shot 61st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Rapid Bucuresti's goalie prevented a goal. If Gheorghe Crușeveanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marian Măndica received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Horaţiu Cubleșan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ciprian Macaneață struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Cosmin Pădureanu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vali Octavian's shot from short distance in the 77th minute. Dragoş Geamănu hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Marian Măndica received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Horaţiu Cubleșan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 85 minutes into the game, Vali Octavian cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-5. Cosmin Pădureanu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Vali Octavian had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Horaţiu Cubleșan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gheorghe Crușeveanu in the 95th minute of the match. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Pernesti had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
