After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Gavril Cârstea managed to get in a good position for a shot. Red Wings Baia Mare's supporters rose to their feet, but Gavril Cârstea was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tudor Aalexoaiei showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Robert Şimandan, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Eduard Ispirescu was the one to do the kick off. Matei Giurăscu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Moise Hrean in the 52nd minute of the match. If Martin Tomozei had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Vacareni defense, Dacian Zburliş kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tudor Aalexoaiei. The Vacareni fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tudor Aalexoaiei should have stopped the shot. Tudor Aalexoaiei made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gavril Cârstea in the 81st minute of play. Matei Giurăscu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Moise Hrean, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. Aurel Lung sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dacian Zburliş in the 88th minute of play forced Vacareni's goalkeeper Tudor Aalexoaiei to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 90th minute Robert Şimandan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tudor Aalexoaiei saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 91 minutes into the game, Red Wings Baia Mare's Dacian Zburliş nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Red Wings Baia Mare's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Martin Tomozei ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Red Wings Baia Mare's goalie and right to Moise Hrean. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Red Wings Baia Mare's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal.
