In the 11th minute Victor Bobei shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lucrețiu Opriș saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 14th minute, Varasti's Sever Trişcu seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Sever Trişcu the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Varasti protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Sever Trişcu had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 13th minute of the game. One of Varasti:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of F.C. Barbosii Constanta:s goal. Grigore Grecescu struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Luca Cazimir didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for F.C. Barbosii Constanta. Luca Cazimir stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Claudiu Cigu's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. In the 27th play minute Călin Dumitrachescu came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Lucrețiu Opriș. 1-2. The supporters of Varasti booed when F.C. Barbosii Constanta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pavel Iovulescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luca Cazimir showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Claudiu Cigu, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. After 36 minutes, Lucian Răuţă mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the F.C. Barbosii Constanta and the Varasti players grew even worse after the yellow card. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mircea Drăghincescu got free with Lucrețiu Opriș in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Luca Cazimir took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Claudiu Cigu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Claudiu Cigu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mihail Zdrăilă during the 53rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Mihail Zdrăilă hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. With his leg Luca Cazimir managed to avoid a goal in the 55thth minute, when F.C. Barbosii Constanta's Claudiu Cigu fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After having played for 61 minutes, Octavian Condescu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. F.C. Barbosii Constanta's supporters crossed their fingers, but Octavian Condescu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 65 played minutes Varasti got a freekick which was hit by Călin Dumitrachescu. The supporters of Varasti booed when F.C. Claudiu Cigu showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-4. Mircea Drăghincescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lucrețiu Opriș having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Octavian Condescu managed to get in a good position for a shot. F.C. Barbosii Constanta's supporters rose to their feet, but Octavian Condescu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luca Cazimir breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Varasti's Mihail Zdrăilă got a free kick in the 93rd minute. In the 95th minute, Mihail Zdrăilă hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The F.C. Barbosii Constanta supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing F.C. Barbosii Constanta would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
