But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cezar Arseni couldn't finish the play. In the 43rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Antas's goalkeeper Costică Cazan, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 45 minutes into the match, Antas's goal looked a bit too open when Mădălin Moscu came free, but Costică Cazan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cezar Arseni fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leontin Butuc having to interfere. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cezar Arseni made a kick off. Dinu Baltian struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. DUNAREA GALATI's Leontin Butuc played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cezar Arseni in the 57th minute of play. Tiberiu Baldovin's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Costică Cazan read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 68th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cezar Arseni in the 69th minute of play forced DUNAREA GALATI's goalkeeper Leontin Butuc to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bogdan Beca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 72nd match minute, DUNAREA GALATI was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Silviu Puiu to maneuver through the defense. Costică Cazan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mădălin Moscu in the 74th minute of play. Leontin Butuc showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cezar Arseni in the 85th minute of the match. 86 minutes into the match, Antas's goalkeeper Costică Cazan had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ionică Casian. In the 87th minute, Nicolae Gâgea hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 91 minutes into the match, Cezar Arseni notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of DUNAREA GALATI's Leontin Butuc. Leontin Butuc was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Cătălin Buceceanu's late challenge caught a DUNAREA GALATI's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cătălin Buceceanu helped the player get up and apologised. After 94 played minutes Antas got a freekick which was hit by Cătălin Buceceanu. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Antas fully deserved thier win.
