Spectators: 7367 (Terracing: 5526, Seating: 1694, VIP seats: 147) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Ilie Tiberiu kicked off to start the match. With a little luck, Garnita's Mugurel Ostoici got control of the ball when Mircea Găvănescu tried to sneak it across the goal line. Mugurel Ostoici came out of the goal in the 7th minute to try and stop a shot by Surina's Mircea Găvănescu. But to his dismay, Mircea Găvănescu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Garnita's Mugurel Ostoici proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save Garnita from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mircea Găvănescu got free with Mugurel Ostoici in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 17 minutes into the game, Mircea Găvănescu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Mugurel Ostoici was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Mircea Găvănescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mugurel Ostoici made an important save on a dangerous shot by Vasile Nicorici in the 24th minute. In the 26th minute, Mircea Găvănescu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Mircea Găvănescu who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 34thth minute tested the skills of Mugurel Ostoici when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Iustinian Giurchescu kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. Mircea Găvănescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Mugurel Ostoici tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 41st minute, Mircea Găvănescu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Eliodor Medeleanu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but Mugurel Ostoici made a huge save. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mircea Găvănescu to make the kick off. Mircea Silişteanu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ilie Tiberiu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 55 minutes into the match, Surina's goalkeeper Mircea Silişteanu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Edgar Cluceru. Mircea Găvănescu took the ball and in the 58 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mugurel Ostoici. Mugurel Ostoici dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. After having played for 62 minutes, Mircea Găvănescu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Surina's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mircea Găvănescu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 63rd minute Mihail Bocu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mugurel Ostoici saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mircea Găvănescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Mugurel Ostoici tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. George Lăcătuș received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Mircea Silişteanu came out and tried to block the shot, but George Lăcătuș slotted it home off the left post making it 5-1 in the 73rd minute. In the 76thth minute of the game Mircea Găvănescu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Garnita's Mugurel Ostoici was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Mircea Găvănescu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mugurel Ostoici was relentless in the 78th minute of the game. In the 84th minute Mircea Găvănescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mugurel Ostoici saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 84th match minute, Garnita was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by George Lăcătuș to maneuver through the defense. Mugurel Ostoici made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valeriu Ologu in the 86th minute of play. Mugurel Ostoici showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mihail Bocu in the 87th minute of the match. Mircea Găvănescu struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Mugurel Ostoici didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Surina. Mugurel Ostoici made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eliodor Medeleanu in the 90th minute of play. In the 92nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Garnita's goalkeeper Mugurel Ostoici, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Mircea Găvănescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valeriu Ologu in the 95th minute of play forced Garnita's goalkeeper Mugurel Ostoici to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Surina fully deserved thier win.
