Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Nicodim Iliescu started the match with the kick off. A collision led to Margareta getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Avram Vieru hit a great ball. Nicodim Iliescu scored 0-1 in the 7th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Costică Boieru, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the match had gone on for 10 minutes, Gabriel Berevoescu took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Adrian Coposu to make any attempt to save it. Adrian Coposu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gabriel Berevoescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. With his leg Adrian Coposu managed to avoid a goal in the 19thth minute, when Margareta's Gabriel Berevoescu fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Gigi Bobe hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. The supporters of Margareta booed when AS Minerul Matasari was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gigi Bobe didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 27 minutes Margareta's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Nicodim Iliescu who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Nicodim Iliescu almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Margareta's Costică Boieru did a great save. Adrian Coposu was a little too slow when Sever Dorian got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 29th minute. The score was now 3-1. 33 minutes into the match, Nicodim Iliescu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Costică Boieru. Margareta's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nicodim Iliescu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. Nicodim Iliescu hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. AS Minerul Matasari's Adrian Coposu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sever Dorian in the 45th minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-2.
Adrian Coposu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gabriel Berevoescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Sever Dorian received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Adrian Coposu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A sloppy throw-in by Cosmin Borcea in the 57th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by AS Minerul Matasari's Gigi Bobe. Costică Boieru took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gigi Bobe, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 59 minutes into the match, Margareta's goalkeeper Costică Boieru had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Remus Bosioc. In the 64th match minute, Margareta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Horia Istrăteanu to maneuver through the defense. Adrian Coposu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Octav Zdrehuş in the 66th minute of the match. 68 minutes into the match, AS Minerul Matasari's goal looked a bit too open when Ioan Harhoiu came free, but Adrian Coposu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Costică Boieru made a fantastic save in the 70th minute, when Nicodim Iliescu sent off a good shot on target. 71 minutes into the game, Margareta's Gabriel Berevoescu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Adrian Coposu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-2. Adam Axinte struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Adrian Coposu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Margareta. The audience was convinced that Gabriel Berevoescu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Adrian Coposu was relentless in the 75th minute of the game. In the 77th minute Sever Dorian shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adrian Coposu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gabriel Berevoescu in the 92nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Adrian Coposu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 93rd minute, Adam Axinte made a precise shot to the right of Adrian Coposu. AS Minerul Matasari's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-4. Adrian Coposu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Adam Axinte went, in the 96th minute, to the upper right corner, 7-4 was the resulting score. AS Minerul Matasari's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
