Niculae Ştefănoiu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gigel Iosif, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. In the 20th minute, Alexandru Popescu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gigel Iosif fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Niculae Ştefănoiu having to interfere. Niculae Ştefănoiu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gigel Iosif in the 27th minute of the match. FC Gerula's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Cristi Poenaru in the 29th minute. It was a well-played corner which Alexandru Popescu managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Petrică Ignea hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. Cristi Poenaru, 35 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Alexandru Popescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Niculae Ştefănoiu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The FC Gerula fans' excitement grew in the 43rd match minute when FC Gerula's Gigel Iosif looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The supporters of FC Gerula booed when Liescii SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Maxim Oravițan didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 60th minute Alexandru Popescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Niculae Ştefănoiu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sixto Todor might have been able to make a better finish in the 79th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Vlad Bercea. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sixto Todor ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sever Costache in the 80th minute of play forced Liescii SC's goalkeeper Niculae Ştefănoiu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 81 minutes, Maxim Oravițan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Liescii SC and the FC Gerula players grew even worse after the yellow card. The Liescii SC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
