He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Castani reached it. Sebastian Cârstea took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 65th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ionică Bulgar. FC Petrolul Ploiesti's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When Alex Tatulici fell near the penalty area in the 65th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Petrolul Ploiesti's protests and gave Alex Tatulici a yellow card for diving instead. After 65 played minutes FC Petrolul Ploiesti got a freekick which was hit by Alex Tatulici. Ionică Bulgar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Matei Amandiței in the 69th minute of play. In the 76th match minute, Castani was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marin Hapaina to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Castani defense, Marcel Văidianu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Eduard Cristian. The Castani fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eduard Cristian should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Castani's zone, Iustin Iureș stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eduard Cristian came out of the goal and Iustin Iureș tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Eduard Cristian showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcel Văidianu, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. If Marcel Văidianu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Basarab Tremurici took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 88th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Eduard Cristian. Castani's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. With a little luck, FC Petrolul Ploiesti's Ionică Bulgar got control of the ball when Sever Oroian tried to sneak it across the goal line.
