In the 7th minute Nichifor Dănilă shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Horia Chițu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 13 minutes into the match, FC DUNAREA BRAILA's goal looked a bit too open when Zakariás Soós came free, but Manole Hidișan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Manole Hidișan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zakariás Soós, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. In the 18th minute Traian Stănciulescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Horia Chițu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 21st minute, Zakariás Soós left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Samy AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. 24 minutes into the match, Samy AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Nichifor Dănilă came free, but Horia Chițu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Nichifor Dănilă had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Ciprian Bondrea came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the FC DUNAREA BRAILA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ciprian Bondrea couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Zakariás Soós in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Manole Hidișan saved FC DUNAREA BRAILA from getting behind. In the 31st minute, Zakariás Soós got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 39th match minute, FC DUNAREA BRAILA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Manole Piț to maneuver through the defense. If Zakariás Soós had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Samy AFC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nichifor Dănilă made a kick off. 53 minutes into the match, FC DUNAREA BRAILA's goal looked a bit too open when Zakariás Soós came free, but Manole Hidișan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Horia Chițu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nichifor Dănilă in the 54th minute of play. After some careless play in the FC DUNAREA BRAILA defense, Zakariás Soós kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Manole Hidișan. The FC DUNAREA BRAILA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Manole Hidișan should have stopped the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Manole Piț during the 69th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Manole Piț hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. A collision led to Samy AFC getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Kåre Wik hit a great ball. Horia Chițu came out of the goal in the 73rd minute to try and stop a shot by FC DUNAREA BRAILA's Ciprian Bondrea. But to his dismay, Ciprian Bondrea quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Sebastian Lixandru lost his temper 87 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. Eric Sărăroiu shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. The Samy AFC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Samy AFC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
