In the 4th minute Petrică Bîlbă shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dan Stamate saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nicu Dragota showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marius Dulca, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marius Dulca in the 9th minute of play forced Cetatele's goalkeeper Nicu Dragota to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 10th match minute, Cetatele was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rareș Angheloiu to maneuver through the defense. When Emil Firoiu came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Sanisor AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Emil Firoiu couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Cetatele's zone, Emil Firoiu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nicu Dragota came out of the goal and Emil Firoiu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cetatele's Nicu Dragota proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Cetatele from getting a goal against them. In the 19th minute Marius Dulca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicu Dragota saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Virgil Pască hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Liviu Stroia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dan Stamate having to interfere. If Emil Firoiu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nicu Dragota stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marius Dulca's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. Dan Stamate took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Liviu Stroia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alexandru Trandafir's late challenge caught a Sanisor AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alexandru Trandafir helped the player get up and apologised. Emil Firoiu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Nicu Dragota tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Marius Dulca stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 59 played minutes Sanisor AFC got a freekick which was hit by Vintilă Pârvan. Dan Stamate made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when Liviu Stroia sent off a good shot on target. When Cetatele's Petrică Bîlbă in the 64th minute got a chance for a shot 64th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Sanisor AFC's goalie prevented a goal. 66 minutes into the game, Sanisor AFC's Emil Firoiu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nicu Dragota made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. 72 minutes into the match, Sanisor AFC's goalkeeper Dan Stamate had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Liviu Stroia. Emil Firoiu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Petrică Bîlbă managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cetatele's supporters rose to their feet, but Petrică Bîlbă was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dan Stamate breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Emil Firoiu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Nicu Dragota tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Petrică Bîlbă sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 97th minute, Liviu Stroia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sanisor AFC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
