Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) 3 minutes into the game, Romeo Furdui recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Moise Niculcea. Romeo Furdui showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Olimpiu Barbăneagră could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Moise Niculcea made a huge save. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 23rd minute of the game. One of Catelu:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of FC Vigani:s goal. In the 29th minute, Marcel Druga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Niculae Doinaș fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lucian Pitiș having to interfere. 35 minutes into the match, Niculae Doinaș notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Catelu's Lucian Pitiș. Lucian Pitiș was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Olimpiu Gherdan in the 43rd minute of play forced FC Vigani's goalkeeper Moise Niculcea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Niculae Doinaș to make the kick off. After 59 played minutes FC Vigani got a freekick which was hit by Alin Alungulesei. Olimpiu Gherdan might have been able to make a better finish in the 60th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Moise Niculcea. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Olimpiu Gherdan ran back to his position shaking his head. Lucian Pitiș didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Niculae Doinaș went, in the 63rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. The supporters of Catelu booed when FC Vigani was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alin Alungulesei didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lucian Pitiș made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Niculae Doinaș in the 76th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in FC Vigani's zone, Romeo Furdui stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Moise Niculcea came out of the goal and Romeo Furdui tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 84 minutes into the match, Romeo Furdui had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Moise Niculcea. FC Vigani's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Romeo Furdui was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. When Romeo Furdui came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Catelu fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Romeo Furdui couldn't finish the play. Alexandru Ignătoiu's late challenge caught a Catelu's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alexandru Ignătoiu helped the player get up and apologised.
