CSM ROMAN's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tomeni CSS the free kick. A collision led to CSM ROMAN getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nichifor Cartiș got free with Mihăiţă Rebengiuc in the 8th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Marcu Apopei was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 9 minutes into the match. 8 minutes into the game, one of Tomeni CSS:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Mihăiţă Rebengiuc showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aurel Urdea, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. In the 19th minute, Sorin Stolniceanu made a precise shot to the right of Victor Marinescu. CSM ROMAN's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nichifor Cartiș got free with Mihăiţă Rebengiuc in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Nichifor Cartiș in the 25thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Mihăiţă Rebengiuc, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Nichifor Cartiș received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Mihăiţă Rebengiuc came out and tried to block the shot, but Nichifor Cartiș slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 28th minute. 31 minutes into the match, Ionuț Lung had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Victor Marinescu. CSM ROMAN's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ionuț Lung was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Aurel Urdea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Aurel Urdea in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mihăiţă Rebengiuc prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Sorin Stolniceanu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Victor Marinescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aurel Urdea recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 48th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nichifor Cartiș stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ionuț Lung fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Victor Marinescu having to interfere. In the 58th match minute, CSM ROMAN was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Laurențiu Apostolescu to maneuver through the defense. In the 60th minute, Sorin Stolniceanu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Victor Marinescu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sorin Stolniceanu went, in the 62nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-3 was the resulting score. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 65th minute of the game. One of CSM ROMAN:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Tomeni CSS:s goal. The audience was convinced that Nichifor Cartiș's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mihăiţă Rebengiuc was relentless in the 72nd minute of the game. With a little luck, CSM ROMAN's Victor Marinescu got control of the ball when Sorin Stolniceanu tried to sneak it across the goal line. Tomeni CSS's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
