Spectators: 7491 (Terracing: 5619, Seating: 1723, VIP seats: 149) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Victor Budulea kicked off to start the match. Sorin Ciolacu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sandu Ozon in the 4th minute of play. After having played for 15 minutes, Laurin Martinez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fortuna Bucharest ™'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Laurin Martinez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sorin Ciolacu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicodim Strugure, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. George Cigu kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. If Stelian Budianu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 25th minute, Nicodim Brad hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sorin Ciolacu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sandu Ozon in the 28th minute of play. After a rather tough play, FC Eagles Sibiu's Dinu Greblă got a free kick in the 30th minute. Stelian Budianu struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Moise Zăhărescu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fortuna Bucharest ™. 39 minutes into the game, Fortuna Bucharest ™'s Laurin Martinez nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Moise Zăhărescu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Laurin Martinez made a kick off. Fortuna Bucharest ™'s Laurin Martinez got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Zacarías Solano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Moise Zăhărescu having to interfere. In the 57th minute, Stelian Budianu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Fortuna Bucharest ™'s Alex Brezoi got a free kick in the 60th minute. Moise Zăhărescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zacarías Solano in the 65th minute of play. Mugur Grama hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. The supporters of FC Eagles Sibiu booed when Fortuna Bucharest ™ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Petrică Caranică didn't get a good kick on the ball. Andrzej Kloczko recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Fortuna Bucharest ™'s fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
