In the 13thth minute of the game Laurin Martinez who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Eagles Sibiu's Moise Zăhărescu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Laurin Martinez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Moise Zăhărescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 16th match minute, Fortuna Bucharest ™ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dacian Oprișan to maneuver through the defense. Zacarías Solano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Martin Berggren during the 40th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Sandu Ozon might have been able to make a better finish in the 43rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sorin Ciolacu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sandu Ozon ran back to his position shaking his head. Sandu Ozon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sorin Ciolacu having to interfere. With a little luck, Fortuna Bucharest ™'s Sorin Ciolacu got control of the ball when Sandu Ozon tried to sneak it across the goal line. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Laurin Martinez was the one to do the kick off. Moise Zăhărescu made a fantastic save in the 60th minute, when Laurin Martinez sent off a good shot on target. Moise Zăhărescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stelian Budianu in the 64th minute of the match. Sandu Ozon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Stelian Budianu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of FC Eagles Sibiu booed when Fortuna Bucharest ™ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Petrică Caranică didn't get a good kick on the ball.
