The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Cornel Păunescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Saragea booed when Cotorman AC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonard Mudura didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cotorman AC's Nechifor Munteanu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save Cotorman AC from getting a goal against them. 12 minutes into the match, Cotorman AC's goal looked a bit too open when Andrei Oravițan came free, but Nechifor Munteanu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nechifor Munteanu made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Marian Năsturel sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marian Năsturel got free with Nechifor Munteanu in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andrei Oravițan in the 20th minute of play forced Cotorman AC's goalkeeper Nechifor Munteanu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cotorman AC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 25th minute, when Andrei Oravițan scored to the left of an out of position Nechifor Munteanu, making the score, 2-0. Cornel Păunescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Niculae Malcoci tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Remus Chiliman's late challenge caught a Saragea's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristi Stolniceanu in the 51st minute of play forced Cotorman AC's goalkeeper Nechifor Munteanu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cristi Todea hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. In the 58th match minute, Cotorman AC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leonard Mudura to maneuver through the defense. 61 minutes into the game, Saragea's Andrei Oravițan nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nechifor Munteanu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. Niculae Malcoci took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cornel Păunescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Costel Cămărășescu struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Niculae Malcoci didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cotorman AC. Nechifor Munteanu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andrei Oravițan in the 88th minute of play. In the 94th minute of the match Silviu Cozorici sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Niculae Malcoci skillfully saved the ball. Cotorman AC's Cornel Păunescu got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the referee ended the match the Saragea players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
