In the 20th minute, Cezar Chiliman got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Doru Nanu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Petru Geambașu's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. The audience was convinced that Petru Geambașu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Doru Nanu was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. Karl-Åke Bergqvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Iurie Bunoaică in the 28th minute of play. Doru Nanu made a fantastic save in the 29th minute, when Cezar Chiliman sent off a good shot on target. When the match clock showed 31 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Petru Geambașu sped through Vatasesti's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Doru Nanu. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Petru Geambașu in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Doru Nanu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Vatasesti's Doru Nanu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save Vatasesti from getting a goal against them. When Cezar Chiliman came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Figo FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cezar Chiliman couldn't finish the play. In the 44th minute, Narcis Grozăvescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dorel Zdrăilă hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. Petru Geambașu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Iurie Bunoaică was the one to do the kick off. In the 55thth minute of the game Petru Geambașu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Vatasesti's Doru Nanu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to Vatasesti getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Dorel Zdrăilă hit a great ball. In the 58th minute, Petru Geambașu made a precise shot to the right of Doru Nanu. Vatasesti's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. In the 62ndth minute of the game Petru Geambașu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Vatasesti's Doru Nanu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Figo FC's Petru Geambașu managed to work through Vatasesti's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Petru Geambașu dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. After a rather tough play, Vatasesti's Constantin Ruşdea got a free kick in the 69th minute. If Petru Geambașu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Petru Geambașu in the 76th minute of play forced Vatasesti's goalkeeper Doru Nanu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cezar Chiliman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Doru Nanu having to interfere. A hard shot 78 in the game by Ionică Vârjean from a close distance when the talented Karl-Åke Bergqvist managed to make a qualified save. Figo FC's players were relieved. Iurie Bunoaică received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Karl-Åke Bergqvist tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Karl-Åke Bergqvist made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Ionică Vârjean sent off a good shot on target. Petru Geambașu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Doru Nanu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nechifor Păsărin charged in rather forcefully in the 94th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nechifor Păsărin the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 94 played minutes Vatasesti got a freekick which was hit by Nechifor Păsărin. In the 95thth minute of the game Petru Geambașu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Vatasesti's Doru Nanu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Cezar Chiliman blasted a shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Doru Nanu having to make a save. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Figo FC fully deserved thier win.
