Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Eugen Chimeț started the match with the kick off. Mihăiţă Drăucean showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eugen Chimeț in the 5th minute of the match. Mailat's Mihăiţă Drăucean proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 6th minute of the match, managed to save Mailat from getting a goal against them. Iurie Lucrețiu charged in rather forcefully in the 9th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Iurie Lucrețiu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 9 minutes into the game, one of Chichirau:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Gigi Capătă didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ionuț Opincaru went, in the 11th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. 15 minutes into the match, Mailat's goal looked a bit too open when Eugen Chimeț came free, but Mihăiţă Drăucean reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ionuț Opincaru might have been able to make a better finish in the 17th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gigi Capătă. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ionuț Opincaru ran back to his position shaking his head. Mihăiţă Aliuta's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gigi Capătă read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ionuț Opincaru in the 22nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gigi Capătă prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ernest Popovici's late challenge caught a Mailat's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ernest Popovici helped the player get up and apologised. In the 23rd minute, Ernest Popovici hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Ionuț Opincaru had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Mailat's Ionuț Opincaru in the 29th minute got a chance for a shot 29th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Chichirau's goalie prevented a goal. In the 30th minute, Ovidiu Bușcu made a precise shot to the right of Gigi Capătă. Chichirau's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. In the 36th minute Ionuț Opincaru shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gigi Capătă saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Denis Gârneață during the 36th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 37th match minute, Chichirau was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Denis Gârneață to maneuver through the defense. Costică Micu's late challenge caught a Chichirau's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Costică Micu helped the player get up and apologised. Costică Micu kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. Mihăiţă Drăucean made a fantastic save in the 40th minute, when Albert Bobe sent off a good shot on target. Ionuț Opincaru received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Gigi Capătă tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Chichirau booed when Mailat was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonard Dobre didn't get a good kick on the ball. 48 minutes into the match, Mailat's goalkeeper Mihăiţă Drăucean had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Filip Chinezu. The Chichirau players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Mailat were winning 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ovidiu Bușcu to make the kick off. Mihăiţă Drăucean came out of the goal in the 54th minute to try and stop a shot by Chichirau's Eugen Chimeț. But to his dismay, Eugen Chimeț quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. 60 minutes into the game, Ovidiu Bușcu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Gigi Capătă was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 65th minute, Ovidiu Bușcu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 69 played minutes Mailat got a freekick which was hit by Mihăiţă Aliuta. Mailat's Mihăiţă Drăucean played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ernest Popovici in the 71st minute of play. The supporters of Chichirau booed when Mailat was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nichifor Rotariu didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 82nd minute Costică Micu managed to get in a great position but fired away a sharp shot that went outside the goal on the goalie's right hand side. It could just as well have been a goal. Mihăiţă Drăucean took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eugen Chimeț, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Filip Chinezu took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 86th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Mihăiţă Drăucean. Mailat's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 91st minute, Albert Bobe ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mihăiţă Drăucean was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-3. After a defensive mix-up in Chichirau's zone, Costică Micu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gigi Capătă came out of the goal and Costică Micu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mailat's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
