Codrin Stamatiu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 57 minutes into the match, Gisteni's goalkeeper Virgil Piersic had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cazimir Gaciu. Teodor Lechințan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manuel Melinescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Virgil Piersic showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cazimir Gaciu in the 62nd minute of the match. A collision led to Gisteni getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Valer Florei hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Gisteni's zone, Nicu Voineag stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Virgil Piersic came out of the goal and Nicu Voineag tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Gisteni's Virgil Piersic got control of the ball when Cazimir Gaciu tried to sneak it across the goal line. Teodor Lechințan didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Codrin Stamatiu went, in the 73rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. In the 78th match minute, Gisteni was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Horia Hudiță to maneuver through the defense. Vargyas UFC's Nicu Voineag got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Teodor Lechințan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Manuel Melinescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. For all the effort they put into the match, the Vargyas UFC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Gisteni.
