With a little luck, Otesani's Dorel Stănculescu got control of the ball when Andrei Cismarescu tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to Otesani getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. David Pârcălab hit a great ball. 45 minutes into the game, Andrei Cismarescu recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Dorel Stănculescu. Andrei Cismarescu showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Luca Siclovan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Vlad Ilica recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Vlad Ilica took the ball and in the 61 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dorel Stănculescu. Dorel Stănculescu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. When Aurel Brânzaș fell near the penalty area in the 77th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Otesani's protests and gave Aurel Brânzaș a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Real Madrid Romania booed when Otesani was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aurel Brânzaș didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 86 played minutes Real Madrid Romania got a freekick which was hit by Gică Hurezeanu. Dorel Stănculescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andrei Cismarescu in the 88th minute of play. In the 96th match minute, Otesani was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by David Pârcălab to maneuver through the defense. Real Madrid Romania were awarded a corner in the 101th minute after Otesani's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Gică Hurezeanu took the corner. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Real Madrid Romania had played much better football throughout.
