Emanuel Vanghelie's late challenge caught a Rediul CSM's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Emanuel Vanghelie helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Palos getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Emanuel Vanghelie hit a great ball. Rediul CSM's Eduard Dobrin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Corneliu Geambașu in the 20th minute of play. 22 minutes into the game, Mihai Tomulescu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Palos's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rediul CSM the free kick. In the 22nd match minute, Palos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mihai Tomulescu to maneuver through the defense. Palos's defense didn't have a chance, in the 23rd minute, when Romeo Jugănaru scored to the left of an out of position Iurie Blaj, making the score, 1-0. Corneliu Geambașu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Eduard Dobrin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Albert Baicea struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Iurie Blaj didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rediul CSM. After 39 played minutes Rediul CSM got a freekick which was hit by Eric Loghin. When Ion Chiru came up free with the goalie in the 49th minute, the Palos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ion Chiru couldn't finish the play. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Albert Baicea was the one to do the kick off. If Romeo Jugănaru had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Palos's Iurie Blaj played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Romeo Jugănaru in the 59th minute of play. If Albert Baicea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eric Mustață recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The attack was good, but when Albert Baicea in the 66th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Corneliu Geambașu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eduard Dobrin having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Corneliu Geambașu in the 73rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Eduard Dobrin saved Rediul CSM from getting behind. Iurie Blaj was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Romeo Jugănaru came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the Rediul CSM fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Romeo Jugănaru couldn't finish the play. Eric Mustață's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 86thth minute, Eduard Dobrin skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Corneliu Geambașu had several of the Rediul CSM's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 92 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-1 score and a disappointed Eduard Dobrin as he didn't even see the shot coming. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Rediul CSM fans cheered their team off the field, for while Palos had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
