Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Robert Damian started the match with the kick off. Cristian Alamaru fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maxim Oprișan having to interfere. Ionică Davidescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Maxim Oprișan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Cioflanu CSM's Virgil Aluneanu got a free kick in the 6th minute. In the 12th minute, Cristian Alamaru fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Cristian Alamaru could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 17th minute of the match, but Maxim Oprișan made a huge save. Ionică Davidescu received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Maxim Oprișan came out and tried to block the shot, but Ionică Davidescu slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 21st minute. After a defensive mix-up in Cioflanu CSM's zone, Cristian Alamaru stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Maxim Oprișan came out of the goal and Cristian Alamaru tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Virgil Aluneanu kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. Maxim Oprișan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ionică Davidescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 32nd minute of the match Lucrețiu Zgondea sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Maxim Oprișan skillfully saved the ball. Robert Damian kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. 37 minutes into the match, Cioflanu CSM's goalkeeper Maxim Oprișan had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristian Alamaru. Maxim Oprișan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ionică Davidescu in the 39th minute of play. After having played for 42 minutes, Cristian Alamaru managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cervenia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Alamaru was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 45 played minutes Ionică Davidescu rounded Cioflanu CSM's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 2-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ionică Davidescu to make the kick off. Maxim Oprișan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ionică Davidescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Niculae Ţipirig charged in rather forcefully in the 57th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Niculae Ţipirig the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Cervenia booed when Cioflanu CSM was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Niculae Ţipirig didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cioflanu CSM's Maxim Oprișan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ionică Davidescu in the 81st minute of play. Niculae Ţipirig kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. Cioflanu CSM's Robert Damian got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
