The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. George Paulescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Octav Niculescu in the 27th minute of play. In the 35th minute Luca Zbârnea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but George Paulescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Anton Ţintă fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ştefan Hojbota having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dan Trapcea got free with Ştefan Hojbota in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Anton Ţintă got in the 45th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Ştefan Hojbota handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. 47 minutes into the match, Negoesti AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Mihai Bodiu came free, but Ştefan Hojbota reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Anton Ţintă to make the kick off. In the 57thth minute of the game Anton Ţintă who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Negoesti AFC's Ştefan Hojbota was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Ştefan Hojbota took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anton Ţintă, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 63 played minutes Negoesti AFC got a freekick which was hit by Petre Tilea. 64 minutes into the match, Negoesti AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Dan Trapcea came free, but Ştefan Hojbota reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. George Paulescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luca Zbârnea in the 71st minute of the match. Dan Trapcea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match had gone on for 83 minutes, Anton Ţintă put it in 3-0 from a short distance just to the right of Ştefan Hojbota. After a defensive mix-up in Negoesti AFC's zone, Dan Trapcea stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ştefan Hojbota came out of the goal and Dan Trapcea tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 89th minute, Anton Ţintă got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Drujesti fans cheered their team off the field, for while Negoesti AFC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
