Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Augustin Budișteanu in the 7th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nicolae Nebunu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the match clock showed 8 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Gheorghe Popovici sped through Fc Calarasi's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Nicolae Nebunu. Nicolae Nebunu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gheorghe Popovici's shot from short distance in the 12th minute. When Minerul Baita -MM-'s Gheorghe Popovici in the 14th minute got a chance for a shot 14th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After 22 played minutes Minerul Baita -MM- got a freekick which was hit by Sever Muntian. In the 27th minute Niculae Afloroaiei shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicolae Nebunu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 32nd minute, Adam Ioanițiu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 39th minute Augustin Budișteanu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicolae Nebunu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gheorghe Popovici's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nicolae Nebunu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 40th minute of play. Nicolae Nebunu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gheorghe Popovici, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Mircea Balaci hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Marius Negrescu, 53 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Alexandru Ştefănucă managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fc Calarasi's supporters rose to their feet, but Alexandru Ştefănucă was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Valer Vărzaru breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Minerul Baita -MM- getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Mircea Balaci hit a great ball. The supporters of Fc Calarasi booed when Minerul Baita -MM- was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mircea Balaci didn't get a good kick on the ball. Adam Ioanițiu kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. With a little luck, Fc Calarasi's Nicolae Nebunu got control of the ball when Niculae Afloroaiei tried to sneak it across the goal line. Minerul Baita -MM-'s Valer Vărzaru played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alexandru Ştefănucă in the 73rd minute of play. With a little luck, Fc Calarasi's Nicolae Nebunu got control of the ball when Augustin Budișteanu tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jonas Nachreiner in the 76th minute of play forced Minerul Baita -MM-'s goalkeeper Valer Vărzaru to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Minerul Baita -MM- defense, Adam Ioanițiu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Valer Vărzaru. The Minerul Baita -MM- fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Valer Vărzaru should have stopped the shot. Alexandru Ştefănucă fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valer Vărzaru having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Sandu Mirciu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fc Calarasi's supporters rose to their feet, but Sandu Mirciu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Valer Vărzaru breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
