The crowd rose to their feet as Gigi Cerchez kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ciprian Pitiș. That made the score 3-0 in the 33 minute of play. When Iordache Aluchei came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the FC Brasovia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Iordache Aluchei couldn't finish the play. The supporters of FCP Ploiesti booed when FC Brasovia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Grigore Marian didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ciprian Pitiș made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Iordache Aluchei in the 47th minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

The FCP Ploiesti fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ciprian Pitiș should have stopped the shot. FCP Ploiesti's Ciprian Pitiș played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Irinel Balint in the 67th minute of play. After 68 played minutes FC Brasovia got a freekick which was hit by Iordache Aluchei. In the 73rd minute, Iordache Aluchei hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gigi Cerchez charged in rather forcefully in the 81st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gigi Cerchez the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Gigi Cerchez hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. Doru Opriș sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ciprian Pitiș came out of the goal in the 88th minute to try and stop a shot by FC Brasovia's Gigi Cerchez. But to his dismay, Gigi Cerchez quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 7-1.
