The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Yngve Ståhlberg during the 6th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 13 minutes into the match, Bucsana AS's goal looked a bit too open when Sever Obregia came free, but Nechifor Fetanu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cazimir Săvoiu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ernest Comănescu in the 14th minute of the match. A collision led to Fanata FC getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Yngve Ståhlberg hit a great ball. Ernest Comănescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cazimir Săvoiu having to interfere. Bucsana AS's Costică Găvănescu got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Fanata FC's Adrian Voina got a free kick in the 25th minute. The audience was convinced that Ernest Comănescu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cazimir Săvoiu was relentless in the 26th minute of the game. In the 27th minute, Yngve Ståhlberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ernest Comănescu in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cazimir Săvoiu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Nechifor Fetanu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sever Obregia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nechifor Fetanu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sever Obregia's shot from short distance in the 38th minute. 39 minutes into the match, Fanata FC's Alex Cârjă sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nechifor Fetanu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 41st minute, Sever Obregia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 43rd minute, Alex Cârjă fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Alex Cârjă managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fanata FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Alex Cârjă was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nechifor Fetanu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Sever Obregia came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Fanata FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sever Obregia couldn't finish the play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ernest Comănescu to strike the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Bucsana AS getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Emil Simionaş hit a great ball. In the 54th minute Alex Cârjă shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nechifor Fetanu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sever Obregia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Nechifor Fetanu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 59 minutes, Ion Landa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fanata FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ion Landa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nechifor Fetanu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alex Cârjă in the 66th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sever Obregia in the 70th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nechifor Fetanu saved Bucsana AS from getting behind. A collision led to Bucsana AS getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Ernest Comănescu hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alex Cârjă in the 78th minute of play forced Bucsana AS's goalkeeper Nechifor Fetanu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 81 minutes, Iurie Levința managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fanata FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Iurie Levința was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Sever Obregia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nechifor Fetanu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ion Landa, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. Fanata FC were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Bucsana AS to leave the ground with a draw.
