Ioan Muntian didn't get a good kick on the ball. Petru Stere's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 8thth minute, Matei Văcărescu skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After 9 played minutes Sterminosu got a freekick which was hit by Eugen Enoiu. Matei Văcărescu was a little too slow when Ferdinand Luțu got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 11th minute. The score was now 1-0. In the 13th minute, Costin Meleșcanu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 15th match minute, Sterminosu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stelian Elenescu to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mugurel Trăistaru got free with Matei Văcărescu in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Sterminosu getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Florin Bordeanu hit a great ball. Edgar Gavrilă struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Matei Văcărescu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sinleani. Matei Văcărescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Costin Meleșcanu in the 26th minute of play. 30 minutes into the game, Costin Meleșcanu recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Matei Văcărescu. Costin Meleșcanu showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-0. 43 minutes into the match, Sterminosu's goalkeeper Matei Văcărescu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mugurel Trăistaru. 48 minutes into the game, Mugurel Trăistaru cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Matei Văcărescu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Emilian Budulea made a kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Sterminosu's zone, Emilian Budulea stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Matei Văcărescu came out of the goal and Emilian Budulea tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Matei Văcărescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ferdinand Luțu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Sterminosu defense, Emilian Budulea kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Matei Văcărescu. The Sterminosu fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Matei Văcărescu should have stopped the shot. Matei Văcărescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emilian Budulea, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. 63 minutes into the match, Emilian Budulea had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Matei Văcărescu. Sterminosu's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Emilian Budulea was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-0. Emilian Budulea struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Matei Văcărescu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sinleani. In the 70th minute, Emilian Budulea left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sinleani fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 7-0.
