After a defensive mix-up in SOMOSD FC's zone, Remus Homescu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. David Druță came out of the goal and Remus Homescu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Nicolae Feroiu managed to get in a good position for a shot. SOMOSD FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Nicolae Feroiu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Horia Dimofte breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Alexandru Vernescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Horia Dimofte tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 19th minute, Nicolae Feroiu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nicolae Feroiu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Horia Dimofte tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the SOMOSD FC defense, Remus Homescu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of David Druță. The SOMOSD FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that David Druță should have stopped the shot. After 38 played minutes Gisteni got a freekick which was hit by Gavril Ciprian. If Alexandru Vernescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 47 minutes, Nicolae Feroiu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SOMOSD FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nicolae Feroiu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nicolae Feroiu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Chants of Gisteni echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as SOMOSD FC had held the ball for most of the match.
