Alexandru Gane made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paul Pogba in the 23rd minute of play. Corneliu Gârdan's late challenge caught a Pietrestii's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Corneliu Gârdan helped the player get up and apologised. After 24 played minutes Grunji got a freekick which was hit by Corneliu Gârdan. When Bálint Rigó came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Pietrestii fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bálint Rigó couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paul Pogba in the 27th minute of play forced Grunji's goalkeeper Alexandru Gane to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Grunji's Alexandru Gane played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paul Pogba in the 31st minute of play. A collision led to Pietrestii getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Ioan Bobailă hit a great ball. 37 minutes into the match, Grunji's goal looked a bit too open when Paul Pogba came free, but Alexandru Gane reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Paul Pogba fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alexandru Gane having to interfere. Alexandru Gane made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bálint Rigó in the 43rd minute of play. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Paul Pogba to make the kick off. Bálint Rigó struck a weak shot in the 58th minute. Alexandru Gane didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pietrestii. Bálint Rigó sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Pietrestii's Paul Pogba in the 62nd minute got a chance for a shot 62nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Grunji's goalie prevented a goal. Pietrestii's Paul Pogba got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 0-1 became the score in the 67th minute when Bálint Rigó elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. 71 minutes into the match, Pietrestii's Bálint Rigó sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alexandru Gane narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Fabian Hârșu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paul Stafie having to interfere. In the 78th minute Corneliu Gârdan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paul Stafie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ioan Bobailă kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Grunji defense, Bálint Rigó kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alexandru Gane. The Grunji fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alexandru Gane should have stopped the shot. With a little luck, Grunji's Alexandru Gane got control of the ball when Bálint Rigó tried to sneak it across the goal line. Pietrestii played a much better game than Grunji and deserved their victory. The Grunji players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
