He was immediately shown a red card. 33 minutes into the game, one of FC Romelinha:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Claudiu Oroveanu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dinu Vuia's shot from short distance in the 39th minute. After 41 played minutes Izimsea got a freekick which was hit by Aurel Milea. In the 48th minute Ivan Grigore shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Claudiu Oroveanu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dinu Vuia stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. FC Romelinha's Ivan Grigore got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 64 minutes into the match, Izimsea's goal looked a bit too open when Dinu Vuia came free, but Claudiu Oroveanu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, FC Romelinha's Manuel Petrulean got a free kick in the 65th minute. After having played for 66 minutes, Sergiu Ţopescu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Izimsea's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sergiu Ţopescu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Izimsea's zone, Ivan Grigore stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Claudiu Oroveanu came out of the goal and Ivan Grigore tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Izimsea's Vali Maftei got a free kick in the 73rd minute. FC Romelinha's Valer Mereuță proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save FC Romelinha from getting a goal against them. Valer Mereuță made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mihai Şuţu in the 77th minute. In the 79th match minute, Izimsea was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ştefan Alamaru to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aurel Milea in the 84th minute of play forced FC Romelinha's goalkeeper Valer Mereuță to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dinu Vuia in the 87th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Claudiu Oroveanu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience was convinced that Ivan Grigore's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Claudiu Oroveanu was relentless in the 93rd minute of the game.
