Chelis FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave F.C. Buzau the free kick. A collision led to Chelis FC getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Leontin Cotoi hit a great ball. After 5 played minutes, F.C. Buzau's Nistor Ciocâltea shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ivan Popoacă came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in F.C. Buzau reached it. In the 9th minute, Călin Ortacu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Sever Răduțu fell near the penalty area in the 12th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Chelis FC's protests and gave Sever Răduțu a yellow card for diving instead. Sever Răduțu hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. Mihnea Postelnicu didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 17th minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. Dacian Andronic received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Ivan Popoacă tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Chelis FC booed when F.C. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Călin Ortacu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mihnea Postelnicu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 53rd minute of play. Mihnea Postelnicu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Călin Ortacu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 62nd minute, Călin Ortacu left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Chelis FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. In the 68th minute Petruț Nicolcioiu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mihnea Postelnicu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Iurie Bâru's late challenge caught a F.C. Buzau's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Iurie Bâru helped the player get up and apologised. Iurie Bâru hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Fabian Păvăloae managed to get in a good position for a shot. F.C. Buzau's supporters rose to their feet, but Fabian Păvăloae was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ivan Popoacă breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Chelis FC getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Vlad Cârțan hit a great ball. Mihnea Postelnicu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Petruț Nicolcioiu in the 89th minute of play. Fabian Păvăloae could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Ivan Popoacă made a huge save.
