In the 6th minute, Niculae Taşcă reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Sergiu Iuga. The goal made the score 1-0. After 9 minutes, Pavel Grigoriu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Arghis and the FC REAL UNIREA players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 9th minute, Pavel Grigoriu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pavel Grigoriu hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Moise Măgureanu in the 19th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mihnea Popilean saved Arghis from getting behind. Sergiu Iuga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pavel Grigoriu, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Arghis's Mihnea Popilean played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Herman Stephansson in the 27th minute of play. When FC REAL UNIREA's Herman Stephansson in the 28th minute got a chance for a shot 28th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Arghis's goalie prevented a goal. Mihnea Popilean showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Moise Măgureanu in the 31st minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Moise Măgureanu in the 34th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mihnea Popilean prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Mihnea Popilean stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Herman Stephansson's shot from short distance in the 38th minute. After some careless play in the Arghis defense, Herman Stephansson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mihnea Popilean. The Arghis fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mihnea Popilean should have stopped the shot. The Arghis players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. FC REAL UNIREA were winning 1-3.

Iurie Băieșu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Mihnea Popilean tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 56 minutes into the match, Niculae Taşcă had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sergiu Iuga. FC REAL UNIREA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Niculae Taşcă was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adrian Buzatu in the 61st minute of play forced FC REAL UNIREA's goalkeeper Sergiu Iuga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Moise Măgureanu in the 63rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Mihnea Popilean, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Costel Răcănel kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice moves Gigel Ploieșteanu could shoot a difficult shot in the 66th minute, which Mihnea Popilean however easily saved by the left post. Herman Stephansson ran back to his position shaking his head. After a defensive mix-up in Arghis's zone, Moise Măgureanu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mihnea Popilean came out of the goal and Moise Măgureanu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When FC REAL UNIREA's Herman Stephansson in the 82nd minute got a chance for a shot 82nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Arghis's goalie prevented a goal. After 91 minutes, Gelu Teodoreanu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC REAL UNIREA and the Arghis players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 91st minute, Gelu Teodoreanu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Cornel Cernat managed to get in a good position for a shot. Arghis's supporters rose to their feet, but Cornel Cernat was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sergiu Iuga breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
