David Beșleaga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Claudiu Ielciu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alexandru Voicescu hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Valer Costa took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 17th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Dorel Vasilescu. Prahova FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Claudiu Ielciu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Petrică Pavel in the 20th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Tirnovita's zone, Nichifor Zdrehuş stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Claudiu Ielciu came out of the goal and Nichifor Zdrehuş tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Petrică Pavels short, quick shot in the 27thth minute got Claudiu Ielciu to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. David Beșleaga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudiu Ielciu having to interfere. Alexandru Voicescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Petrică Pavel came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Prahova FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Petrică Pavel couldn't finish the play. Claudiu Ielciu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from David Beșleaga, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. The audience was convinced that Petrică Pavel's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Claudiu Ielciu was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. When David Beșleaga came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Prahova FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that David Beșleaga couldn't finish the play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Prahova FC's Dorel Vasilescu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save Prahova FC from getting a goal against them. Remus Bejans short, quick shot in the 56thth minute got Dorel Vasilescu to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Claudiu Ielciu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Petrică Pavel, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Tirnovita's Claudiu Ielciu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Petrică Pavel in the 60th minute of play. A beautiful save bye Tirnovita's goalie prevented a goal. Prahova FC's Petrică Pavel got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Prahova FC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
