Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Virgil Cîrțu took the kick off in the first half of the match. When Manuel Olariu came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the FC Steaua Slatina fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Manuel Olariu couldn't finish the play. Laurențiu Costache fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dorel Zorlescu having to interfere. In the 6th minute, Niculae Zeciu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the FC Steaua Slatina defense, Virgil Cîrțu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Vintilă Rogozanu. The FC Steaua Slatina fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Vintilă Rogozanu should have stopped the shot. The attack was good, but when Aristide Petrea in the 12th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Dorel Zorlescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manuel Olariu in the 15th minute of the match. When Laurențiu Costache came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the FC Steaua Slatina fans jumped to their feet. Vintilă Rogozanu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ioan Ciolofan in the 20th minute of play. After having played for 22 minutes, Aristide Petrea managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vezendiu AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aristide Petrea was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 26th match minute, Vezendiu AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vasile Băsescu to maneuver through the defense. Manuel Olariu received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Dorel Zorlescu came out and tried to block the shot, but Manuel Olariu slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 28th minute. 33 minutes into the match, FC Steaua Slatina's goal looked a bit too open when Aristide Petrea came free, but Vintilă Rogozanu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vintilă Rogozanu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Virgil Cîrțu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Manuel Olariu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dorel Zorlescu having to interfere. Laurențiu Costache sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Laurențiu Costache's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 47thth minute, Dorel Zorlescu skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Manuel Olariu was the one to do the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Vezendiu AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Manuel Olariu came free, but Dorel Zorlescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 53rd minute, Răzvan Zbereanu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alex Agudaru took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 54th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Dorel Zorlescu. Vezendiu AFC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Laurențiu Costache received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Dorel Zorlescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Niculae Zeciu hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. Dorel Zorlescu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Laurențiu Costache's shot from short distance in the 66th minute. If Laurențiu Costache had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 69th minute, Filip Gaiță hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dorel Zorlescu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Laurențiu Costache went, in the 70th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-1 was the resulting score. In the 74th match minute, Vezendiu AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ioan Ciolofan to maneuver through the defense. Dorel Zorlescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Laurențiu Costache in the 75th minute of play. Iustin Petcu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dorel Zorlescu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Laurențiu Costache received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Dorel Zorlescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 93rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Vezendiu AFC's goalkeeper Dorel Zorlescu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Vezendiu AFC's zone, Iustin Petcu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dorel Zorlescu came out of the goal and Iustin Petcu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. FC Steaua Slatina had played much better football throughout.
