Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dirja FC's Călin Scutaru started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the match, Valentin Popete had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gabriel Paraschivescu. Dirja FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Valentin Popete was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Edgar Luncanu during the 8th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 8 played minutes CF Targoviste got a freekick which was hit by Edgar Luncanu. When Călin Scutaru came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the Dirja FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Călin Scutaru couldn't finish the play. Gheorghe Boeru received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Gabriel Paraschivescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gabriel Paraschivescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valentin Popete in the 17th minute of the match. 25 minutes into the match, Dirja FC's goal looked a bit too open when Sergiu Muntian came free, but Gabriel Paraschivescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Valer Robu kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. Through an outstanding action, after 28 minutes, Petre Valerian successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Iordache Chira managed to get in a good position for a shot. CF Targoviste's supporters rose to their feet, but Iordache Chira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gabriel Paraschivescu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gigi Popescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gigi Popescu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gabriel Paraschivescu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 43rd minute of play. 44 minutes had been played when some careless play by Dirja FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Valentin Popete was slow to take the kick. During this time CF Targoviste's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Valentin Popete got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Gabriel Paraschivescu quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. If Valentin Popete had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aurelian Huștiu kicked well hit freekick during the 48th minute of the match. In the 49th minute, Sergiu Muntian got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After the first half CF Targoviste were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Valentin Popete to make the kick off. Iordache Chira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Valentin Popete received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Gabriel Paraschivescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vintilă Şneapotă kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Sergiu Muntian received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. One of Dirja FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of CF Targoviste:s goal. When the match had been going on for 70 minutes, CF Targoviste's Valentin Popete got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Gabriel Paraschivescu. After a defensive mix-up in Dirja FC's zone, Valentin Popete stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gabriel Paraschivescu came out of the goal and Valentin Popete tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A sloppy throw-in by Vintilă Şneapotă in the 78th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by CF Targoviste's Edgar Luncanu. Sergiu Muntian sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Călin Scutaru had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 90 minutes, Lucrețiu Cozorici mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Dirja FC and the CF Targoviste players grew even worse after the yellow card. Lucrețiu Cozorici kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. In the 96th minute Aurelian Huștiu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Petre Valerian saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 98th minute, Lucrețiu Cozorici hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
