Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Eduard Frențiu started the match with the kick off. Cristian Mandoiu stood somewhat misplaced when Iordache Negruț came free in front of goal and shot 1-0 to the left of him in the 4 minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Iordache Negruț in the 14th minute of play forced Talapani's goalkeeper Cristian Mandoiu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Talapani's Cristian Mandoiu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Talapani from getting a goal against them. Talapani's Cristian Mandoiu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Iordache Negruț in the 17th minute of play. After having played for 19 minutes, Eduard Frențiu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Talapani's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eduard Frențiu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Talapani booed when FC Star Bucharest was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nistor Tolea didn't get a good kick on the ball. Emanuel Pascu took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 22nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Cornel Chiuzbaian. FC Star Bucharest's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Talapani's defense didn't have a chance, in the 23rd minute, when Ştefan Enoaia scored to the left of an out of position Cristian Mandoiu, making the score, 2-0. Cristian Mandoiu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Iordache Negruț, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 30 played minutes Talapani got a freekick which was hit by Claudiu Văcăroiu. Ştefan Enoaia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Cristian Mandoiu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Răzvan Arjoca hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. In the 34th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Star Bucharest's goalkeeper Cornel Chiuzbaian, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ştefan Enoaias short, quick shot in the 35thth minute got Cristian Mandoiu to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Iordache Negruț in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cristian Mandoiu saved Talapani from getting behind. The long shot by Răzvan Arjoca in the 40th minute really tested Cristian Mandoiu's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aurelian Lalescu in the 41st minute of play forced FC Star Bucharest's goalkeeper Cornel Chiuzbaian to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ştefan Enoaia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 47 minutes into the match, FC Star Bucharest's Iordache Negruț sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cristian Mandoiu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Iordache Negruț made a kick off. Cristian Mandoiu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Octav Bodiu in the 52nd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, FC Star Bucharest's Răzvan Arjoca got a free kick in the 56th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eduard Frențiu in the 60th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cornel Chiuzbaian prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Cristian Mandoiu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ştefan Enoaia, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ştefan Enoaia in the 68th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cristian Mandoiu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A very good chance. 75 minutes into the match, Talapani's goal looked a bit too open when Iordache Negruț came free, but Cristian Mandoiu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Iordache Negruț in the 78th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cristian Mandoiu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Toader Sima had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 84th minute, Claudiu Văcăroiu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ştefan Enoaia in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cristian Mandoiu saved Talapani from getting behind. The FC Star Bucharest fans' excitement grew in the 89th match minute when FC Star Bucharest's Iordache Negruț looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Talapani's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
