Ştefan Enoaia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gunnar Fredriksson having to interfere. In the 4th minute Iordache Negruț shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gunnar Fredriksson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gunnar Fredriksson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Iordache Negruț's shot from short distance in the 5th minute. Gunnar Fredriksson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ştefan Enoaia in the 6th minute of the match. The supporters of FC Star Bucharest booed when Dataseni UFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Traian Coșereanu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gunnar Fredriksson didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ştefan Enoaia went, in the 11th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. If Ştefan Enoaia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. FC Star Bucharest's Ştefan Enoaia got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of FC Star Bucharest booed when Dataseni UFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iordache Bobeanu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Traian Coșereanu kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. FC Star Bucharest's Ştefan Enoaia got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Ştefan Enoaia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 38 minutes, Iordache Negruț managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Star Bucharest's supporters crossed their fingers, but Iordache Negruț was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nistor Tolea during the 43rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Nistor Tolea kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Laurențiu Unchiaşu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Iulian Papaiani hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Octav Bodiu did an outstanding performance 56 minutes into the match, when he by himself got past the opposing team's defense and with a quick scored 0-2 to the right of an irritated Gunnar Fredriksson in the goal. Gunnar Fredriksson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Iordache Negruț in the 61st minute of the match. Ştefan Enoaia succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-3 in the 64th playminute. Laurențiu Unchiaşu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Cornel Chiuzbaian tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Avram Sandu kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Vasile Pintea during the 76th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 76 played minutes Dataseni UFC got a freekick which was hit by Vasile Pintea. 80 minutes into the match, Laurențiu Unchiaşu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cornel Chiuzbaian. FC Star Bucharest's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Laurențiu Unchiaşu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. Dataseni UFC's Gunnar Fredriksson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to save Dataseni UFC from getting a goal against them. In the 86th minute Laurențiu Unchiaşu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cornel Chiuzbaian saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Laurențiu Unchiaşu in the 90th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cornel Chiuzbaian prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Doru Oncu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cornel Chiuzbaian having to interfere. Cornel Chiuzbaian came out of the goal in the 93rd minute to try and stop a shot by Dataseni UFC's Laurențiu Unchiaşu. But to his dismay, Laurențiu Unchiaşu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. FC Star Bucharest's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
