Eric Lucănescu came out and tried to block the shot, but Nicu Valerian slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 16th minute. If Grzegorz Mac Donald had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Grzegorz Mac Donald fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eric Lucănescu having to interfere. Nicu Valerian received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Eric Lucănescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 24 minutes, Victor Enășoiu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Surcea AC and the POLI2 players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind Surcea AC's goalkeeper Eric Lucănescu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Manole Duțulescu kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. Nicu Valerian sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Augustin Miron stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 53 played minutes Surcea AC got a freekick which was hit by Iustinian Bârza. Cornel Bocșa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 2-0 became the score in the 61st minute when Grzegorz Mac Donald elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. After having played for 65 minutes, Grzegorz Mac Donald managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. POLI2's supporters crossed their fingers, but Grzegorz Mac Donald was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 66th minute, Costin Bociort hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nicu Valerian in the 67th minute of play forced Surcea AC's goalkeeper Eric Lucănescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Nicu Valerian had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 74 minutes into the match, Surcea AC's goal looked a bit too open when Grzegorz Mac Donald came free, but Eric Lucănescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 77th minute Grzegorz Mac Donald shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eric Lucănescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 83rd minute, Mihail Brumaru hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Surcea AC defense, Grzegorz Mac Donald kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Eric Lucănescu. The Surcea AC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eric Lucănescu should have stopped the shot. In the 94thth minute of the game Nicu Valerian who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Surcea AC's Eric Lucănescu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Augustin Miron came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Surcea AC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Augustin Miron couldn't finish the play. POLI2's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
