Cazimir Belu's late challenge caught a Catus Belitus's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cazimir Belu helped the player get up and apologised. After 3 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for POLITEHNICA IASI! Iosif Purcaru might have been able to make a better finish in the 8th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cristinel Cudalb. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Iosif Purcaru ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 12th minute of the match, Aurel Cândroveanu got a very nice opportunity to score, but Cristinel Cudalb was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Iosif Purcaru received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Cristinel Cudalb came out and tried to block the shot, but Iosif Purcaru slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 15th minute. Cristinel Cudalb took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valer Pătrășconiu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Valer Pătrășconiu took the ball and in the 21 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cristinel Cudalb. Cristinel Cudalb dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. After 27 minutes of play, Catus Belitus's Aurel Cândroveanu made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cristinel Cudalb was left in no man's land by his defense there! 5-0 became the score in the 31st minute when Valer Pătrășconiu elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. If Ferdinand Floreanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Aurel Cândroveanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 41st minute Iosif Purcaru shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristinel Cudalb saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cristinel Cudalb showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valer Pătrășconiu in the 44th minute of the match. In the 44th match minute, POLITEHNICA IASI was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leonard Burileanu to maneuver through the defense. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 46th minute of the game. One of POLITEHNICA IASI:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Catus Belitus:s goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 5-0 at half-time.

In the 51st minute, Mugurel Oprișan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 57 minutes into the match, POLITEHNICA IASI's goal looked a bit too open when Boruc Bejger came free, but Cristinel Cudalb reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cristinel Cudalb came out of the goal in the 59th minute to try and stop a shot by Catus Belitus's Aurel Cândroveanu. But to his dismay, Aurel Cândroveanu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valer Pătrășconiu in the 64th minute of play forced POLITEHNICA IASI's goalkeeper Cristinel Cudalb to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cristinel Cudalb took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Iosif Purcaru, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 74th minute, Leonard Burileanu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match had gone on for 76 minutes, Valer Pătrășconiu put it in 7-0 from a short distance just to the right of Cristinel Cudalb. When the match had gone on for 79 minutes, Valer Pătrășconiu put it in 8-0 from a short distance just to the right of Cristinel Cudalb. After having played for 84 minutes, Valer Pătrășconiu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Catus Belitus's supporters crossed their fingers, but Valer Pătrășconiu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Valer Pătrășconiu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 89 minutes, Denis Brezoi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the POLITEHNICA IASI and the Catus Belitus players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to POLITEHNICA IASI getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Denis Brezoi hit a great ball. Albert Constantinescu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Leontin Negreanu in the 94th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valer Pătrășconiu in the 96th minute of play forced POLITEHNICA IASI's goalkeeper Cristinel Cudalb to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee ended the match the Catus Belitus players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
