In the 10thth minute of the game Corneliu Lăcătușu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FERENCVÁROS's Ion Eniceicu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Ion Eniceicu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sabin Vrabie went, in the 15th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Ion Eniceicu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sabin Vrabie in the 22nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sabin Vrabie in the 26th minute of play forced FERENCVÁROS's goalkeeper Ion Eniceicu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sabin Vrabie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ion Eniceicu having to interfere. If Corneliu Lăcătușu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sabin Vrabie sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Aurelian Bucataru received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Gică Cârlan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 40th minute Aurelian Bucataru shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gică Cârlan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gheghie's Gică Cârlan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ferdinand Pârcălab in the 48th minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Corneliu Lăcătușu got free with Ion Eniceicu in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 60 minutes into the match, Leontin Tadici notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of FERENCVÁROS's Ion Eniceicu. Ion Eniceicu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Aurelian Bucataru in the 67th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gică Cârlan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ion Eniceicu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Corneliu Lăcătușu in the 71st minute. In the 74th minute, Aurelian Bucataru got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Iordache Voinescu kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. If Corneliu Lăcătușu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute.
