The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 3 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Prundureni! Adrian Bărbat made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anton Barbăroșie in the 8th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dan Platon got free with Călin Berbec in the 11th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Anton Barbăroșie took the ball and in the 12 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Adrian Bărbat. Adrian Bărbat dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Aristide Daraban during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After some careless play in the Prundureni defense, Toader Muncelean kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Adrian Bărbat. The Prundureni fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Adrian Bărbat should have stopped the shot. Anton Barbăroșie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Adrian Bărbat tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dan Platon during the 26th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Prundureni's Dan Platon got a free kick in the 26th minute. When the match had gone on for 29 minutes, Anton Barbăroșie put it in 0-4 from a short distance just to the right of Adrian Bărbat. The Prundureni players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Lehliu were winning 0-4.

53 minutes into the match, Prundureni's Mihăiţă Unciuleanu broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 88th minute Alexandru Bejan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adrian Bărbat saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Anton Barbăroșie in the 90th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Adrian Bărbat prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 90 minutes into the game, Gică Frânculescu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Prundureni's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lehliu the free kick. After a rather tough play, Prundureni's Gică Frânculescu got a free kick in the 90th minute. The Lehliu players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
